JESE MEDINA-SUAREZ
Born in the Canary Islands, Spain, to a Spanish businessman father and Venezuelan real estate investor mother, Jesé grew up within an environment where design and construction were commonplace. As an only child, imagination became central to play and learning, fostering a passion for creativity. Later on, as a teenager, his first work experiences were on the family business’s construction sites, mostly painting walls and ceilings, brushing wooden surfaces and loading construction materials. Sometime afterwards, on Tenerife’s southwest coast, he visited the newly opened Bahía del Duque Hotel for the first time, a luxurious resort which sparked his fascination with tailoring space and the transformative power of well-designed environments—shaping not only the physical setting but also how people feel and experience themselves. This encounter proved pivotal in his decision to pursue a career in design and deepened his passion for hospitality.
Jesé’s academic path began in Spain with a degree in Building Engineering, where he honed skills in construction techniques, materials, and hand drafting, which became the foundation of his design approach. Back then, all drawings at university were hand-drawn, and it was not until he completed this degree that software became central to academic training. Fuelled by creativity, he moved to Milan to study Architecture and Interior Design at Politecnico di Milano, under the mentorship of Angelo Torricelli and Pierluigi Cerri, graduating with a specialisation in interiors and FF&E in the city of furniture-making excellence.
Upon completion of his studies in Architecture and Building Engineering, his professional career began in Milan, collaborating with architects Franco Artifoni and Maria Grazia Pipitone on hospitality and residential interiors, as well as product design.

He then moved to London, working with Foster+Partners, John McAslan+Partners, and AECOM, among others, between 2009 and 2016. His first experience with brand-led design came at Honour, a London-based brand agency, where he led architecture and environment projects for aviation and hospitality clients such as British Airways, Etihad, and Saudia, among others. At 33, he was appointed Director of Architecture, setting the stage for future leadership in creative design.
Following this, Jesé was headhunted to Melbourne to work with Bates Smart, alongside well-known Australian designers Jeff Copolov and Kendra Pinkus, deepening his expertise in the intersection of brand and interiors while undertaking branding studies at Curtin University in Perth. His global career continued with roles as Creative Director at Smallwood in Singapore, Wilson Associates in London, and Campbell House in Paris, refining his craft before establishing his solo practice.
Jesé’s global fluency—having called London, Paris, Milan, Dubai, Singapore, and Melbourne home—enables him to navigate cultural nuance with ease. His portfolio includes hospitality projects for leading brands such as Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Langham, Marriott, Hilton, InterContinental, and Jumeirah, as well as bespoke projects for private clients and boutique businesses.
Across interiors, product design, aviation, and branding, a common thread defines his work: design should delight aesthetically while making sense emotionally, operationally, and financially. A passion for craftsmanship, coupled with the pioneering spirit of the Middle East, has brought Jesé and his studio to the UAE. Here, he continues his independent practice with a commitment to serving clients with pan-European savoir-faire, innovation, and creativity.
